In wake, watching the shadows
drift mercilessly against white walls,
my eyes waver as the mind
fades from consciousness.

Breathing falls.. in momentum to a steady pace,
as the core of your being delves deep
into your innermost thoughts;
surrender.

I glance into memories of the past,
in temperance I find myself
in who I was, in who I am
and who I will be.

Does one forget in life,
the values that make personal beliefs?
"It is these things that cause me concern:
failure to cultivate virtue..".

Myriad Myriad of thoughts,
the countless experiences
that become daily routine,
autopilot, numb.

Lost in familiarity,
that that is hard to swallow
hides within the realms
of the shadowed heart.

Momentarily it slumbers
only to awake
at fragmented intervals,
the sudden change consumes you.

As each static moment passes,
stop. Silence becomes so loud
it's deafening.

And as the tears fall
and the mind wonders
at it's impromptu breakdown,
life puts you back together again.

Lost in Translation Thousand clocked minutes
last in block chunks of thoughts,
delving into that one oddly-shaped object;
the heart.

I try, staring into space imagining,
the reasons that brought me here;
lost.

The wind blows subtly,
carrying the sway of emotion
that so gently lingers
like a scar left by a tiny wound.

I try, understanding the ties
that limply holds me together;
like veins I feel them pulsing
with the blood that leads to my brain.

Breathing,
the one thing I seem to be able to do.

Listening to: B.o.b ft. Hayley Williams - Airplanes

I seem to have ignored my DA profile for pretty much a year. I seemed to be caught up in many things in my life that I just stopped coming on here. I still wrote poems towards the end of last year but I just never submitted them here online. The poems I've recently uploaded are some of my latest works, some of which are ones I truly enjoyed writing.

I've only written one poem this year.. I seem to have involved myself in a little more photography. I've started event photography this year, and it's an amazing experience. I'll put up a few of my photos in the next few weeks or so. After my exam period which I'm going through at the moment of course.

Besides those pictures from the event photography, I'll also put up some of the other shots I've taken. So apologies for abusing you for too long DA. I'll try to not wait a year for another journal post either
