While I'd rather like to leave that last journal post before this one stuck on my profile page, I did say that if there was anything relative to my work here or in my life, that I'd post it. I just didn't say when my next post was :)

Looking at my previous posts, some posts from way back when I first started, I've realised that either I'll post up some random quiz type thing, or put up something relative to DA/art related stuff. However, that was a while ago, back when I was halfway through 16. It's amazing how many things can go in your life three years down the road, and how much you can change as a person.

There was a point in time where I did nothing but be idle because I couldn't find my style of expression through poetry or take up photography to the point where I was happy with the result. When the 'featured' feature (no pun intended, really :p) propped up a while ago, I never bothered editing it for my gallery until a couple of weeks ago. I found old deviations which were nothing more than simple shots or easy poems.

Of course we all had to start somewhere. Not all of us are graced with born talents. Sometimes we have to experience life or new things in order to find out what becomes our mode of art. I found my style later on, when I embraced learning more about poetry, as well as photography.

My style and tools have changed over the years. Feel free to look through some of my old stuff to see. Comparing many of the deviations types that are in my gallery, poetry seems to be my calling more than photography or other art types, but I still try. Here and there you'll see other deviations that still express who I am and what I'd like to express. It seems lately have I realised that I potentially look better infront of the camera than behind it. Of course, this is nothing to be obsessed about; simply accepting that this is how I look and utilise it as best as I can, like many of the other deviants out there.

I recently was given as a present a Nikon D90, adding another wonderful tool to my resources. I last year joined my university's photography society in order to learn more about the field. I worked my way up within the society with my trusty little digital camera until I reached 2nd top: the role of Vice-President. On that little journey, I made wonderful friends, great relationships and practiced photographer here and there from people who were more than happy to let me have a go on their camera gear. Since I have a dslr of my own, I think I'll be able to learn more and take some great shots of my own. I'd like to do better than what I did when I initially started, but since I have more faith in myself, and see the world in a much more vivid light, I think I'll be more than able to come up with some great stuff.

Writing this all reminds me that I've gotten some of these talents from people in my family. Dance and voice from my mother; poetry and photography from my father. My latest poem, titled 'Legacy' is tribute to them both so please have a read when you can. That's all for now, hope this was a pleasant read to say the least. Until whenever.

Thus is dawn.
Thus is life.
Glory be to those who embrace it

Who am I is not a question you should be concerned with.
The question you should be concerned with is "who are you"
Only you will answer that question
Thank you so much :)
